Chamber of Commerce: EDC Event

The Florida Commissioner of Agriculture, Adam Putnam, will be the featured guest of the St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Council (EDC) quarterly breakfast to be held at Blue Sky Farms.

The farm-themed event, “Morning on the Farm” will be held inside the Blue Sky Farms Processing Facility. The function will also feature a farm expo and a livestock gallery.

“We want to use this as an opportunity to showcase how important agriculture is to the St. Johns County business community,” said Isabelle Rodriguez, St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce president and CEO. “Our thriving agricultural industry is an economic development asset. And, we want to make sure that we share this industry’s history of success to many people, especially community business leaders.”

The function will feature a locally-sourced gourmet breakfast prepared by Chef David Bearl from the University of Florida Agricultural Extension Office. Breakfast will include primavera quiche, cheddar cheese scrambled eggs, Hastings sweet potato O’Brien, Datil Dave Summer’s sausage links, fresh fruit salad, Smith Farm broccoli salad, scones, biscuits and sticky rolls and homemade preserves, plus honey from Gail Prevatt, fresh orange juice and locally roasted coffee. Much of the food is sourced from local businesses including Blue Sky Farms, Frederick Farm and Smith Farm, and baked goods made by members of Project WARM, among others.

Attire is business casual or dressy denim and western boots. The EDC Quarterly Breakfast is sponsored by The St. Augustine & St. Johns County Board of Realtors, Ameris Bank, Putnam – St. Johns County Farm Bureau, The Browning Agency, and North Avenue Capital, LLC.
