Romanza is teeming with real experiences in the real world… stimulation, not escape. This extraordinary Festivale, presented by our community, offers indigenous street-level culture - active, participatory recreation.
"St. Augustine's Romanza Festivale of the Arts" is an annual collaboration by dozens of independent cultural organizations and businesses in St. Augustine, FL.
Top local and regional talent showcase why St. Augustine is the First Coast's cultural epicenter. An abundance of existing cultural organizations and businesses "cluster" their productions together once a year to showcase what they do all year long. Romanza Festivale 2017 encompasses over 80 events in dozens of mostly smaller venues (most under 400 seats) (not all in one place over just a couple of days.) About half of all events are free.
St. Augustine is always bustling with live music, a teeming blend of cafes, small galleries, historic sites, museums, shops and bistros, where it is hard to draw the line between performers and spectators.
Everyone in Northeast Florida knows that St. Augustine is the cultural epicenter of The First Coast. The “Ancient City” has always boasted a thriving arts and culture scene, ever since Don Pedro Menendez brought Spanish Court musicians with him to settle the new Colony in 1565… and even more so since the 1880’s when Henry Flagler built his first grand hotels here and filled them with the best artists and performers.
It’s no surprise that an arts-culture community formed here long ago and continues strongly. Creative people are drawn to areas that provide inspiration. St. Augustine, the Nation’s Oldest City, offers centuries of cultural history, rich historic architecture, narrow European streets, dozens of lovely B&Bs, natural scenic beauty, and a steady influx of tourists.
Every year, St. Augustine’s Romanza Festivale of the Arts celebrates the authentic living culture of the Nation’s Most Romantic City. Dozens of cultural organizations and businesses collaborate to showcase our fair City’s Music, Dance, Theatre, Art, Cuisine, Heritage and… Romance.
Many free events. Some ticketed.
