A morning lecture by Jessica Fellowes on Downton Abbey® held in Flagler College’s “Flagler Room” and benefiting the Lightner Museum. This is part of a lecture series in conjunction with Lightner Museum’s exhibition: Dressing Downton™.
Jessica Fellowes’s morning lecture, Downton Abbey: ‘At Home With the Family', will transport listeners to the beginning of the 20th century and talk about life as an “upstairs” member of the Downton family and how it relates to the Lightner Museum’s very own history of the guests at the time of the Alcazar Hotel during the Gilded Age. This lecture will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on October 4, 2017, in Flagler College’s “Flagler Room”, what was formerly the Women’s Grand Parlor of the Ponce de Leon Hotel.
Fellowes is into her fifth year of global lectures, accompanying her latest official companion books to the hit television series: ‘The Wit & Wisdom of Downton Abbey’, a collection of her favorite quotes, and ‘Downton Abbey: A Celebration’, a review of all six series; both were on the New York Times’ bestseller lists. As niece of creator and scriptwriter Julian Fellowes, Jessica is well placed to deliver insights into the real-life inspirations behind the show.
Tickets are $50 per person for the one-hour morning lecture with Jessica Fellowes in Flagler College's "Flagler Room". This is part of a lecture series presented by the Lightner Museum.
