Flagler College Department of Art & Design Faculty Exhibition

Flagler College Department of Art & Design Faculty Exhibition

Presented by Crisp-Ellert Art Museum at Flagler College at Crisp-Ellert Art Museum at Flagler College

The artist’s bodies of work vary in method and material, and encompass painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, video, photography, print and digital design, and animation, at times blurring the lines between multiple disciplines. The biennial faculty exhibition is an opportunity for each of these artist-teachers to share with the Flagler and St. Augustine communities their rich and varied studio practices, which so heavily heavily inform their teaching practices.

The Department of Art & Design is devoted to creative invention and a diverse range of academic scholarship. Each artist-teacher holds the belief that innovative pedagogy results from a robust and ongoing dedication to intellectual curiosity, material invention and the philosophy of artistic discovery. Exhibiting their work in the public sphere is vital in terms of the dialogue it creates between viewer and work, as well as between the works themselves, and on behalf of the department, we are excited to share this passion and dedication with this community.

Included in the exhibition are Sarah Alexander, Andrew Deming, Laura Denzer, Mike Fretto, Nathan Lewis, Diana Lodi, Logan Marconi, Don Martin, Russell Maycumber, Laura Mongiovi, Patrick Moser, Sara Pedigo, Leslie Robison, Jason Schwab, Chris Smith, Natalie Stephenson, and Jayne Struble. This semester’s Art History intern and gallery assistants have assisted with the exhibition’s organization, including participating in artist studio visits, and will contribute texts about each artist that will accompany their included works.
