Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization. We support the public library to benefit the adults and children who use it. We do so through membership, fundraising, advocacy and volunteerism.

The Friends are involved in assisting library staff with events and library services that encourage the community to experience everything the Main Library has to offer. We raise funds to enhance the Main Library’s environment, services, materials and programming. Through advocacy, we increase community awareness of the importance of the Main Library. We plan events and programs such as our Wednesday Brown Bag Lunch Program, hosting local artists, authors, historians and businesses to inform and entertain our patrons. Friends sponsors Literary Lions Book Club to connect with the adult patrons and, by sponsoring both Young Adult and Children’s Programs, inspires the joy of reading in our younger patrons.

The Book Nook, Mainly Books book store and periodic book sales, as well as the Silent Auction of special books, are the main fundraising activities of the Friends, and provide the community with excellent values on written and media materials.
