Bruce Kevin Bates grew up in West Palm Beach, Florida, and currently resides in St. Augustine, Florida. Since early childhood Bruce has had a passion for drawing and painting, and has always enjoyed sketching and painting the people and places around him. While his artwork usually depicts realistic images, he often uses heightened colors, textures, and swirling brush strokes in his works to communicate his thoughts and feelings about the universal energy he feels surrounds us, and connects us all together. His favorite medium is oil, but he continues to experiment with new materials and techniques. He often employs “Old Master” techniques in his works, combined with new methods that he has developed over the years through experimentation. Bruce holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Honors from Pratt Institute in New York, and has exhibited his work throughout the state of Florida.

  • Sharon Goldman
    Sharon Goldman
Literature: Children's; Literature: Fiction; Literature: Other; Visual Arts: Illustration; Visual Arts: Painting
Sharon Goldman, a native Floridian and Fine Arts graduate of the University of Florida had a long career in the advertising business as an Art Director. After raising three children (now college graduates) she started a new career focusing on painting, teaching art classes, and writing and illustrating children’s books. She has also co-authored a romance novel and a musical with her sister. Sharon has been juried into more than 50 gallery shows including solo exhibitions, won numerous ribbons, and her art has been purchased by private collectors. Sharon’s style can be described as painterly realism. Her unique images, cropping, and use of light and shadow are key elements of her paintings. Her colorful palette and design background help her envision her novel compositions. Working from her own original photographs, she paints in both acrylics and oils. Sharon strives to create work that captures the spirit of Florida. The creative process is what gets her going in the morning and sometimes keeps her up at night while thinking about her next idea. Sharon and her husband Richard, a nature enthusiast, live in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. When time permits, he likes to fish in the backyard lagoon, while Sharon, phone in hand, is ready to capture the photo of his next giant bass. Of course, he throws it back. Sharon has written, illustrated, and published two children's books under her company Toolywoo Publishing: The Land of NO: A Story of Positivity When a new family moves into town, they make a positive difference in the lives of the unhappy, closed-minded, intolerant people in The Land of NO.  A humorous and inspiring story about the townspeople who are suspicious of this upbeat, kind, and colorful new family, but in the end, realize their negativity is positively wrong. The illustrations transform from black and white to color as the people embrace change. Great for 6-10-year-olds. There's a Day Out There Look outside your window. What do you see? A ladybug, a butterfly, a cloud, or the sea? Mother nature invites a young boy to learn about the wonderful world waiting outside his window. Great for 4-7-year-olds. Good for encouraging children to go outside and explore nature. Click here to purchase her books in paperback and hardcover.

Since the age of 2, according to an anecdote shared by my mother, music has become and maintains to be an inseparable facet of my life. "He was a baby, just learning to walk, but on this particularly day with an excited burst of energy, his few steps turned into a hurried run, and ::SMASH:: , quickly made his acquaintance with his uncles guitar." As a drummer, songwriter and visual artist, My work is to continue to spread what I hold. Home is the ancient city of St. Augustine, FL, which along with creating a name for myself I hope to help nurture into a musical hub. My musical stylings range anywhere from soft whispery ballads to full on rock and roll. Depending on the project or occasion you'll find the sounds are rooted in Rock and Soul.

Since entering juried exhibits, Ms. Pierson has received accolades for many of her works in pastel as well as watercolor. Her art can be seen at the Cultural Center in Ponte Vedra, in the St Augustine Art Association and other venues. Artist’s Statement: I like to work in Watercolor, but I love to work in pastel. Because there are no brushes or other instruments between me and the color – just grab a stick of pure pigment - it is exhilarating! I feel I have never not been an artist. I make art because It gives me so much joy. It excites me to think I can create something new. Sounds trite, but that’s it. The most challenging aspect about being an artist is finding a place, in your home, in your community, in your life - to find your space. I find that I need to paint every day – even if just for 15 minutes. When I come to the end of a painting, add my signature and install the piece, I hope to take the viewer inside the painting – to make them wonder. I have been an artist all of my life, and have experimented with many types of visual art throughout my career. Since graduating from Winthrop University in 2001, with a BFA in Illustration, I have worked in advertising, marketing, product design, and now in art licensing. I decided to step out on my own and establish the lezleelliott brand in 2010. With a passion and enthusiasm for building expressive color palettes and connecting on-trend ideas with a modern and unique approach, I create designs and illustrations that fit between the lines of traditional style categories and allow the modern woman to define her own sense of style. I continue to work and build towards making lezleelliott into a worldwide recognized brand. Currently, my designs can be found in HomeGoods, Michaels, Hobby Lobby, Publix, TJ Maxx, Ross, gift and independent specialty boutiques nationwide.
