  • Michèle Renaud
    Michèle Renaud
    Visual Arts: Painting
Canadian by birth, Michèle Renaud considers herself lucky to have lived in a number of countries along the way. Her work and life are about memories and feelings of these places and times. The best way to understand her work is to understand what it represents... nature, colour, and a sense of place. Renaud's painting style is abstract, abstract impressionism, and abstract expressionism. She likes to work in collections and find it keeps her work better organized. Abstract painting gives her a sense of freedom to move around the canvas at will. Colour is an important element in Renaud's work, using acrylic paint, oil paint, pencils, crayons, pastels, and an assortment of mediums. There are no preconceived ideas. The final work reveals itself as it develops with many revisions. Michèle begins by scribbling the whole substrate with water-soluble coloured pencils and crayons, followed by a good spraying of water and then the first coat of paint. As the layers build up, an abstract composition is formed and begins to give the painting a life of its own. Michèle says, "The work is finished only when it feels right. It is an emotional, rather than intellectual process that determines whether the painting is successful." Abstraction helps Michèle to express what is inside her in a visual way. The creative process opens her imagination, memories, and intuition in an attempt to navigate through everyday chaos towards calm and to communicate feelings through art, inspiring emotions in the observer.

    Janice Rippon
    Visual Arts; Visual Arts: Painting
I'm a Scottish artist living and working in Florida.  I  use a range of media to create artworks. My three sisters gifted my first easel when I was 14.  My high school art teacher introduced me to watercolor paints and I was up and running.  I paint what I like being drawn to boats, beaches and all things seaside as they remind me of home.  I use photographs of favorite places as inspiration from a distance.  I like to create still lives using interesting angles and perspectives.  I  work in my studio - lovingly called the Arty Bar - or outside in the sunlight.  I exhibit my work locally both in Ponte Vedra Beach and St. Augustine.  I'm an artist member of St. Augustine Art Association, Cutlural Center of Ponte Vedra Beach and Jacksonville Watercolor Society.

My expertise resides in the fields of sales, teaching and creative projects influenced by my background in acting and theater. FirstCoast.TV is a Web based Video Channel, (www.firstcoast.tv,) covering St Johns County with the hopes of covering Flagler in the future. My goal is to fill the large video news vacuum this area has, such as local events, festivals, arts, music and politics, and much more. I interview local celebrities, politicians, musicians, government officials, artists and those who are the voice of our community. The stories are to keep a positive tone on all the subjects that we approach, if problems exist, we look for solutions. I have been putting up video stories almost daily, since March of 2015, and have proven FCTV's variety in content and production quality. The support and positive feed back from the public has been amazing.

  • Karen F Rose
    Karen F Rose
    Visual Arts: Painting
Painting a Poetic Vision in Oil and Pastel I'm influenced by early 20th century landscape painters, searching for a contemplative mood and spiritual connection to the landscape. Dramatic cloudscapes and the meeting of sky and sea inspire me, but for me, it's all about the light, the atmosphere, the mystery, the mood. Perhaps its the moon shimmering on the Atlantic ocean, the dusky glow of the sun on marshes, or dawn breaking on a misty morning...the glow of the "golden hour" and the mystery of "the blue hour". I am all about painting a poetic vision. You are invited to join me in that peace and meditative energy. My hope is to create an emotional connection to a memory... an unspoken connection we will share.
  • Alisha Ross
    Alisha Ross
Music; Music: Other; Drum circles, interactive rhythm programs, transformational rhythm experiences
I am a drum circle facilitator, and my job is to bring people together through the medium of drumming.  I am dedicated to utilizing the power of music and movement to help others discover their true healthy selves – and to have lots of fun and be a little playful along the way. In 2003, I picked up my first drum.  Primarily being a singer at the time, I thought it would add a little groove to my vocal abilities. Learning African music was a challenge like no other.  At school, I joined the Berklee African Drum and Dance Ensemble, and my fascination with rhythm escalated.  My rhythm journey led me on a cultural trip to Ghana, West Africa, and then on to earn an M.A. in Ethnomusicology from Tufts University, during which time I conducted field research in Senegal, West Africa and Boston. I found myself performing in various student and professional ensembles – and felt a flutter of excitement every time I took the stage.  In 2012, it led me to found Just Add Rhythm LLC, with the vision of providing engaging hands-on opportunities for group music making to the South Florida community, in order for all to reap the physical, mental, emotional, and social benefits of drumming.   Having fun is serious business, and for the past 13 years I’ve worked with children, teens, families, adults, and seniors, introducing them to the joy of music and the profoundly positive effect it can have on each and every one of us. I am a proud member of the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild, a Senior Accredited DRUMBEAT and a certified Remo Health RHYTHMS® facilitator, and a licensed 40-hour Childcare professional with the Florida Department of Children and Families. I currently work with organizations throughout Northeast and South Florida to provide fun and engaging drumming opportunities for all.

Music; Music: Composition; Music: Instrumental; Music: Other; Music: Vocal
Lucio Rubino is St. Augustine, Florida’s coat of many colors, bearing the titles of award-winning songwriter, award-winning musician, music producer, and music engineer at Fish Tank Recordings. Lucio is certainly a center block in the foundation of the musical platform of St. Augustine. He played bass guitar on Paramore’s All We Know is Falling and was the lead singer of Christian rock group StorySide:B, an act that earned him BMI’s “Top 5 Most Played Songs on Christian Radio” in 2008. He also owns and operates his own music studio, Fish Tank Studios, which produced Manic Drive’s latest record. There seems to be nothing he doesn’t dip into. Lucio’s sound is definitely warm, with a strong sense of self and an overall comfortability. He’s very easy to listen to. He can morph into several different styles, from pop, rock, blues, Americana, folk, and has even been known to cover a few electronic dance music songs. His musical portfolio is as impressive as his voice, which can have a soothing, rich tone or a rough and tumble towel-dry blues sound. He covers decades upon decades of material, from the 20s to today, and is always a delight to not only watch but a pleasure to know. Audiences can expect to hear whatever their hearts desire, as Lucio’s 20+ years of performance experience have given him a setlist of wonder, surprises, and traditions.
