I was born in Upstate New York in Oneonta, and have been writing poetry since a young age. I have seriously pursued a writing career for the past twenty-five years. My work has been published in major national and international anthologies including, but not limited to: The Henry Bunner Anthology, Harriet Spofford: An Anthology in Memoriam from Bristol Banner Books and The Parnassus of World Poets Anthology published by Pronab Kumar Majumder in Calcutta, India.
I published in 1996 the popular book of whimsical poems, “Fairies and Fantasies”, and am currently working on an eclectic anthology of poetry about Florida; my experiences, observations and reflections.
In 2017 I anticipate the release of my second book of poetry titled: “Shattered Moonbeams, A Reflection of Life, Loss and Recovery”. This is a book that explores life experiences, and poetic expressions that can resonate with anyone’s personal experiences. This book of poems expresses my experiences of life before, during and after the death of my parents and the loss of my pet cat, who died at the old age of 20 years, a long time for a cat. I lost her three weeks after my father’s passing, so the trauma from that loss combined with the sudden loss of my parents who all died within a short seven months in 1997. Those experiences, as well as other poetry written about my life experiences have culminated in this latest book of poetry.
I also have my own publishing company “Rising Moon Press”, with which I self-publish and am open to helping other poets in making their poetry books. Although my first love is poetry and writing, I also enjoy a variety of other crafts, namely crochet and jewelry making.
