Gina Torkos Biography

Gina Torkos was born in Penfield, PA and discovered at an early age her passion for art. She was never without a sketch book as she grew up, and excelled at early art classes. Even as her art was put on hold in collage, her artistic skills were recognized by her professors, who enlisted her to create art therapy materials for their publications during graduate school in Speech Pathology. While working, and raising a family, Gina was continuously enrolled in art classes and workshops, filling her free time with all forms of artistic expression. After numerous group shows, she landed her first solo show in St. Augustine, FL in 2013. Now, as a full time working artist, Gina’s love of art is expressed in oil paintings and in paper collage.  She splits her time between St. Augustine Florida and New York City.

Gina has received both local and national recognition for her work, including best of show, first place awards, and national art magazine coverage for her collages. Her work is included in public and private collections throughout the country.  Gina is represented by Aviles Gallery in St. Augustine.
