Nancy Hamlin-Vogler is Butterfield Garage’s June Featured Artist

Nancy’s energetic new work is full of surprises and always a delight to see. Minimal marks combine pasted papers, acrylic wash, silkscreen, and pastel on reclaimed paper and wood substrates. The artist will be in the gallery all day on Friday, June 2, and will present an artist talk at 6 PM. She will host a backyard Open Studio event on June 17 from 1-5 PM. Nancy Hamlin-Vogler’s passion for contemporary art is evident in her mixed media works rendering still life, studio ephemera, landscape and figurative subjects in her signature gestural and abstracted style. Her works are featured in juried art shows as well as in regional invitational exhibitions. Among her recent awards, in 2022 she was chosen by the St. Johns Cultural Council to present a comprehensive exhibition at the Rotunda Gallery in the County Administration Building. In 2020 she received an Individual Art Ventures grant from The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, to explore the still life genre. She regularly exhibits at the St. Augustine Art Association and co-directs the Louise Freshman Brown workshops.

After completing graduate school from the University of Maine, and armed with an M.A. in French Literature, Nancy developed an infatuation with the silkscreen printing process and designed a line of cards that became Eastern Sun Printworks.
