St. Augustine PoetFest - Day Three

In 2022, Florida Beat Poet Laureate Chris Bodor launched St. Augustine PoetFest, St. Johns County’s official observation of National Poetry Month (April).

Flagler College campus

The festival continues during the day with a student and faculty showcase, St. John County Book Mobile, the PoetFest Book Bazaar, as well as a storytelling seminar,  dramatic play reading, and author talks and panels at the historic downtown campus of Flagler College. Events conclude in the afternoon with an awards ceremony for the winners of the St. Johns Cultural Council Haiku Contest, followed by a reception.

10 am to 10:50 am Gamache-Koger Theater Student Showcase presented by Flagler College English Department

11 am to 11:50 am Gamache-Koger Faculty Showcase presented by Flagler College English Department

12:00 pm to 12:50 pm Gamache-Koger Theater Dramatic Play Reading presented by Amy Goldin and A Classic Theatre

1:00 pm to 1:50 pm Gamache-Koger Theater Storytelling Showcase presented by Margarete Kaler and Tale Tellers of St. Augustine

1:00 pm to 1:50 pm Virginia Room Music and the Muse featuring Claire Conroy (Maine) and Live Musicians

2:00 pm to 2:50 pm Virginia Room presentation by Outlaw Poet Ron Whitehead (Tennessee)
“The Antinomian Outsider aspect of The Beat Generation”.

3:30 pm to 5:00 pm Virginia Room presentation by Christina Parrish Stone of St. Johns Cultural Council
“Winners of 4th Annual St. Johns County Haiku Contest”.
