The ACCORD Civil Rights Museum
The ACCORD Civil Rights Museum was first opened in July 2014 and educates people about St. Augustine's role in the civil rights movement and the passage of the Civil Rights Act 50 years ago. The building was the former dental practice of Dr. Robert Hayling, a leader of the local civil rights movement. The waiting room was the first non-segregated waiting room in St. Augustine. Some of the items exhibited include the former Monson Motor Lodge sign, hand written notes from Martin Luther King Jr., and signage depicting "colored" establishments.
