Are you looking for a way to give back to your community? Have you ever thought about volunteering at a national park site? Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas need your help!
Join us for a volunteering “job fair” in front of the Castillo. Meet experienced VIPs (Volunteers-In-Parks) from both sites, chat with them about what they do and why they love it, and get information on how you can Find Your Park and get involved.
VIPs perform a wide range of tasks at our parks, including historic weapons demonstrations, deckhanding on a ferry boat, operating a visitor center, keeping our beaches clean, giving interpretive programs, assisting with administrative services, and helping visitors get the most out of their experience. They gain experience in public speaking and communicating with visitors from around the world. Volunteer hours can also be put towards scholarship requirements for school.
For more information about the parks, or to download our VIP Handbook, visit www.nps.gov/casa and www.nps.gov/foma.
