Wednesday Brown Bag Lunch - Beauty in Batik

ROWITA-Award-winning artist Wendy Tatter will discuss and demonstrate the process of batik at this  Wednesday Brown Bag Lunch Program. Some participants will get to assist during the demonstration.
Wendy is known to Main Library patrons as the artist behind the beautiful batik of Jean Luoma reading to children in a garden. That work hangs in the children's section of the library, and was commissioned by the Luoma family to honor Mrs. Luoma's legacy as one of the library's founders and long-time advocates. Ms. Tatter does many of her batik works through commission and maintains a gallery on Anastasia Island filled with her works of art and art gifts. She also offers batik workshops to people who want to learn this art.
At this program Ms. Tatter will offer select artwork and gifts for sale and donate a percentage of those sales to benefit the library. A $25 gift certificate for her shop will be awarded at a drawing after the program.
Patrons are welcome to bring their lunch. Friends will offer a beverage and snacks.
