Artist’s Statement:

I like to work in Watercolor, but I love to work in pastel. Because there are no brushes or other instruments between me and the color – just grab a stick of pure pigment - it is exhilarating!

I feel I have never not been an artist. I make art because It gives me so much joy. It excites me to think I can create something new. Sounds trite, but that’s it.

The most challenging aspect about being an artist is finding a place, in your home, in your community, in your life - to find your space. I find that I need to paint every day – even if just for 15 minutes. When I come to the end of a painting, add my signature and install the piece, I hope to take the viewer inside the painting – to make them wonder.
