Growing up on the coast of New England, I am drawn to the simple beauty found in daily life on and around the coast. My goal is to share with you a sentimental connection to this world by bringing to mind a familiar feeling or memory. I hope to do this not only through my subject matter but through my color composition as well.

I’m drawn to the pastel medium because of the luminous quality of the pure pigment and color choices. I love its immediacy and the purity of its color.

At the age of 10, I began taking art lessons at the “YMCA” from a Mass College of Art professor. My subject matter was life as I knew it; mainly my family. I’d draw my sisters in curlers watching TV (much to their chagrin) using any type of material that I could get my hands on! Later, I studied at the Art Institute of Boston, Mass College of Art and the Museum of Fine Art School. Less formally, I’ve participated in numerous workshops offered by Frank Federico, Susan Ogilvie, Ellen Rolli and Susan Guest-McPhail, to name a few.

I am a member of AGOSA, The First Coast Pastel Society and the St. Augustine Art Association. An award winning artist; my paintings and portrait commissions can be found in many private collections.
