Cindy Wilson is a retired graphic designer who now works primarily in her studio, experimenting with various batik processes. The word “batik” comes from a Javanese term for “dot” and refers to a process of creating patterns and images on fabric using dye and wax. Reminiscent of woodblock prints, Wilson’s batiks are highly technical yet have a loose, spontaneous approach to color and pattern.
