The Adventures of Pelican Pete: A Bird is Born

"The Adventures of Pelican Pete: A Bird is Born," premiered July 12, 2015 at the San Diego International Children's Film Festival at Comic-Con. The behind-the-scenes story of this six-minute movie features its own cast of characters due to a series of unlikely but fruitful collaborations. The short film is a mix of live-action material shot by Keaton (who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2) with animation added nearly six years later. It's based on the award winning children's book series by his fellow St. Augustine residents Frances and Hugh Keiser. The first book of "The Adventures of Pelican Pete" series, "A Bird is Born" tells a story of how Pelican Pete's parents met, built their nest, and started raising their young, and includes an environmental message about staying clear of nesting areas.?
