Compassionate St. Augustine and the Junior Service League of St. Augustine are excited to announce that the Obelisk Art 450 Auction* is scheduled for this year's JSL black tie gala, Masquerade at the Alcazar on Saturday, October 17, 2015. The evening begins at 6:30 at the Lightner Museum.
Profits generated from the auction will be donated to two organizations including tag! Children's Museum of St. Augustine Citizenship and Compassion programs that target disadvantaged and vulnerable children and families; and the Kids Bridge Family Supervised Visitation Center.
To purchase tickets to the gala, please visit JSL's Gala website: http://www.jslgala.org. Attendance at the gala is not necessary to bid. Absentee Bids will be taken prior to the auction. Bidders are asked to arrange their bids* prior to the event by emailing Lynn Straughan - please be sure and leave your contact information.
Nine obelisks will be auctioned*, each one is shown below with map number, name of artist and the obelisk's current location. A brief description and images of each is listed at: http://www.compassionatestaugustine.org
Each obelisk is 8'6" tall, the structure is dense fiberglass over wood, built to last.
