Ponte Vedra High School Theatre will present Harper Lee’s masterpiece To Kill a Mockingbird.

The play follows last spring’s school-record-breaking production of Hairspray the Musical and is directed by Ponte Vedra High School drama teacher Joe Kemper and assistant director Mia Cleary. The show is stage managed by Madi McCall and assistant stage managed by Dylan Mathis.

The cast includes Emilee McLean as Jean Louise Finch; Joe Sarci as Atticus Finch; Francesca Pensotti as Scout Finch; Eli Mosely as Jem Finch; Trey Simmons as Dill Harris; Chase Pittman as Tom Robinson; Ian Deal as Bob Ewell; Sofia Ferraro as Mayella Ewell; Janaya Banks as Calpurnia; Kiah Kramer as Mrs. Dubose; Ally Chester as Miss Maudie; Isabel Muir as Miss Stephanie; Hayden Dasher as Walter Cunningham; Charlie Heckman as Boo Radley; Louis Otero as Reverend Sykes; Wyatt Seidel as Mr. Gilmer; and Paxton Peterson as Heck Tate. The ensemble includes Sarah Stepp, Lindsay Philcox, Madison Cooper, Danny Parkulo, Maggie Creasman, Sydney Bartifeld, Cassandra Dayton, Ty Lewin, Troy Maritato, Zuri Goodman, Rosemary Petry, and Alexa Sarci.

Live accompaniment will be provided by Daniel Wiggins playing box drums, Nia Williams playing violin/fiddle, and Keegan Brennan playing acoustic guitar.

In this stage adaptation by Charles Towers, To Kill a Mockingbird tells the classic story of The Finch Family, Boo Radley, and the harrowing events of the summer of 1935 in Maycomb, Alabama. The story is told through the eyes of narrator Jean Louise Finch, as she nostalgically recalls her younger self’s experience during that summer, and recreating it on the stage with the characters around her. Harper Lee’s book has never been out-of-print, and is widely regarded as one of the most important American works of the 20th century.
