History on the Streets Saunter - Cancelled

Presented by Historic Florida Militia at Unknown

Saturday evening March 21, 2020, The Historic Florida Militia reenactment community, in partnership with the City of St. Augustine and the St. Johns Cultural Council, will be conducting another "History on the Streets" saunter along Saint George Street and historic downtown Saint Augustine. Re-enactors will walk around the historic district interacting one-on-one with tourists and locals alike to share the rich and diverse story of the Nation's Oldest City dating back to its founding in 1565. Authenticity is key, so participants are encouraged to wear historically accurate clothing from the Colonial period (16th-18th century). The Historic Florida Militia is always looking for like-minded folks who would love to share Saint Augustine's history with the world. We encourage the city's guests to take photographs and ask questions.

Participants will meet at the Spanish Bakery at 5:30 pm. From there, we will saunter until 8:30 pm, stopping for photos and discussions all throughout the historic district. Everyone is invited to watch, but if you would like to join us in our saunter you must contact us either on Facebook via the "St. Augustine Garrison" or "The Historic Florida Militia" pages by sending us a message or an email to Ria at ribob2000@aol.com. We will gladly explain how you can participate.

This event is free and open to the public.
