The Ximenez-Fatio House Museum will formally participate in First Friday Art Walk on Friday, Feb. 5 with a book signing by Roger Smith, Ph.D., local historian, author and re-enactor. Dr. Smith will feature his newest publication, Hope of Freedom: Southern Blacks and the American Revolution, an account of the plight of enslaved African-Americans in the southern colonies during the latter part of the 18th century and the exodus to the Territory of East Florida during the American Revolution. He will also be signing his previously released publication, The 14th Colony: George Washington's Planned Invasions of East Florida. The event is free and open to the public and will run from 5 pm until 9 pm. Books will be available for purchase.
