Opening Dixieland Band Concert

St. Augustine’s Romanza Festivale of the Arts opens with a Dixieland Band concert, right after the Changing of the Guard.  

Dr. Marc Dickman and his River City Rhythm Kings will play from the stage on the grounds of Government House.  The River City Rhythm Kings are dedicated to performing the highest quality jazz in a swinging and entertaining manner.  The wide range of musical experiences of the members comes together in tight ensemble work and hot solos.  The group pays homage to the great small group jazz popularized in the 1920’s – 1940’s, in a style they call “traditude” (traditional jazz with an attitude).  Few jazz bands maintain the energy and humor of the River City Rhythm Kings.  The band is led by award-winning trombonist and jazz educator, Dr Marc Dickman and includes Bill Prince, Dave Steinmeyer and Ken Calhoun.
