The Oil Painters of America (OPA) will hold the “Virtuosos of the OPA” Exhibition at Cutter & Cutter Fine Art in St. Augustine, Florida from March 1 – 31, 2019. Cutter & Cutter Fine Art is one of the top representational art galleries in the United States. Situated in beautiful and historic St. Augustine, Florida, artists, collectors and art enthusiasts will find several recognizable names in this nationally and internationally acclaimed group of oil painters. All these artists have achieved OPA’s Master Signature or Signature designation; a distinction only awarded to the very best artists who have gone through a rigorous vetting process.

OPA’s membership is comprised of over 3,600 artists from across the United States, Canada and Mexico. This phenomenal exhibition will include approximately 150 paintings by some of OPA’s most renowned members. Total awards for this exhibition will be approximately $10,000 in cash and merchandise. Internationally acclaimed artist Daniel E. Greene OPAM will serve as the Juror of Awards. Mr. Greene OPAM is one of America’s leading figure, portrait and still-life painters. His portrait subjects have been leaders of Government, Banking, Education, Industry, Royalty and the Arts. His works hang in more than 700 public and private collections. In 1995, the American Society of Portrait Artists honored Mr. Greene OPAM with the John Singer Sargent Award for life-long dedication to the achievement of excellence in portraiture and in 2017, a biography was published about Mr. Greene’s work titled “Daniel E. Greene, Studios and Subways, An American Master, His Life and Art.” He is the subject of two 2018 Museum Retrospective exhibitions at The Butler Institute of American Art in Youngstown, OH and the Mattatuck Museum in Waterbury, CT.

An opening reception and award ceremony will be held for artists, collectors, the public and press on Friday, March 1st from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Cutter & Cutter Fine Art, 25 King Street in St. Augustine. Awards will be announced at 8:30 p.m. Admission is free, and all paintings will be for sale.
