The Ancient City Poets will host a community poetry reading featuring Kimmy Van Kooten, followed by an open mic on Sunday, February 24 from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Corazon Cinema and Cafe (36 Granada Street, across from the Lightner Museum).

Author Kimmy Van Kooten will share poems from her new book of poetry entitled “Ekphrastically Real or Imagined" (ROSE BOOKS, 2019). Copies are available on Amazon and will be available at the reading for purchase and signing.

An open mic on the theme of "Love Power” will follow. Readers do not have to follow the theme. Those who wish to share poems during the open mic should sign up at the venue at 2:30. The reading will start at 3:00 pm with the featured poet. After her presentation, readers will be called to the podium in the order their names appear on the list. The mic will be turned off at 4:30 to allow the last 30 minutes for a meet and greet and networking.
