The Adventure Project – St. Augustine’s home for improv – has been in town for three years now and is celebrating by hosting one BIG improv comedy extravaganza that includes workshops from our improv friends in the surrounding area.

Workshop 1:

Working Through The Struggle (1 – 3 p.m.)

Description: Ever feel lost in a scene? Ever get thrown for a loop? Never fear, because we have the tools to help you find your way. As improvisers, we are often faced with these common struggles within a scene. This workshop will provide you with the tips and tricks that will help you adjust in tricky situations so that your scene can move forward. You will learn to make and accept bold choices, let go of what is “supposed” to happen, and enjoy the moment as it unfolds.

Workshop 2:

Stand, Sing, and Deliver (3:30 – 5:30 p.m.)

Description: Musical improv can be daunting. Improv seems hard enough to the outsider, but add rhythm, meter, rhyme, and vocal projection to that and people shy away. “I can never do that” they say. Which is bull. If you can improvise, you can improvise music. Approach it with confidence and commitment and the audience will be on your side. Because THEY will be the ones thinking “I can never do that.” At the end of this workshop, students will be able to sing basic songs with a basic verse structure and sing with power and confidence.
