Cuisine through the eyes of a storyteller

Featuring

Chef Genie McNally of The Floridian

Join us for a farm-to-fork Chef Series dinner event celebrating the unique culture and cuisine of Florida, through the eyes of our best storytellers. Take a culinary tour of the Sunshine state, with a fabulous four course dinner with these amazing culinary creations:

Chilled Gazpacho

BWF heirloom tomato, peach, melon, and cucumber

“New southern” focused on seasonality, sourcing and the melange of cultures in Florida with respect to our unique foodways and traditions.

Shrimp Pilau Arancini

Taking inspiration from Northeast/Central Florida author Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, (“The Yearling”) with the Low Country culture and our Minorcan and African roots, this course explores the culinary influence of our founding years.

Pork & Greens with Black Eyed Pea Succotash

With this course inspired by famed Central Florida author Zora Neal Hurston (“Their Eyes Are Watching God”), we take a deeper look at our cross-cultural influences and the true meaning of Southern comfort food.

Grits and Grunts Sofrito

Cuban sofrito Fresh Catch and purple rice grits with ginger carrot consommé and Microgreen primavera salad. Inspired by Stetson Kennedy’s stories, enjoy this exploration of South Florida’s unique cuisine showcasing our coastal Caribbean and Hispanic influences.

Citrus Infused Rum Cake

Our final course embraces storyteller Jimmy Buffet (“Margaritaville”) and the laid-back, fun-loving lifestyle that has come to embody Florida living and the beach culture we love.

In addition, the event will also feature wine pairings, local artisans and farm-to-table produce from local farms.

Come savor Historic Coast Culture’s unique flavors at this intimate Farm-to-Fork event.
