Award-winning author Susan Kiernan-Lewis makes the case for outlining in her presentation, “Are You Ready to Take Your Pants Off?” at the FWA Ponte Vedra Writers meeting on Saturday, June 22 at 10:30 a.m. at the Ponte Vedra Beach Branch Library.
There are two entrenched positions among writers of genre fiction. The first are those writers who define themselves as “Plotters.” They craft detailed outlines before writing. The other side flies by the seat of their pants, and are known as “Pantsers,” following wherever their muse takes them.
Susan tells us, “A well-outlined novel will help you rediscover the fun in your writing.” She will introduce an outlining technique that works with any genre and is guaranteed to improve writing speed as well as pacing and continuity issues. Attendees will learn how to develop character arcs that work, and plots that satisfy.
