National Parks Centennial

National Parks Centennial

Presented by Fort Matanzas National Monument at Unknown

Come and join us as we celebrate the National Park’s Centennial!   The National Park Service turns 100 on August 25, 2016, and we hope everyone will take part in the celebration!

Saint Augustine is happy to be the home of two of our Nations National Monuments;  Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas.  All in all the National Park system has over 400 parks, monuments and other properties throughout the United States.   The Castillo de San Marcos, The Corazon Cinema and Café, and the Lightner Museum are celebrating the Centennial with some extra special events during the weekends between August 25th and September 11, 2016.

Celebrate our parks with the whole family.  Beginning on Thursday, August 25th – Sunday, August 28 both of our local monuments will offer free admission.  Additionally, both the Corazon Cinema and Café and the Lightner Museum will be celebrating the Centennial with free admission to national park films and a national park art exhibit; AMERICA’S PARKS I ENCORE EXHIBITION.
