“The Attic” is a two-hour, with intermission, drama about Perry Tracey, whose wife died of Alzheimers. She was a Psychiatric Social Worker and her husband tells of her life-long passion to correct some of society’s ills.
The play takes place in Perry’s and Becky’s attic in Williamsville NY. Becky died eight years ago from Alzheimers and Perry is searching through boxes to find “the ring.” It was Becky’s wedding ring and Perry’s mother’s ring and his grandmother’s before that. Today their son, Paul, will be marrying Emma. Perry must find the ring! Every where he looks, he finds reminders of Becky’s social issue passions. She was a Psychiatric Social Worker and held fifteen meetings, monthly, at the local Unitarian Fellowship’s meeting hall to help the marginalized, the damaged and the disenfranchised. All of us have been, are now or will be touched by Alzheimers. We hope that “The Attic” will be entertaining, educational and comforting.
