SEA's 8th Annual Rails to Trails Festival

SEA's 8th Annual Rails to Trails Festival

Presented by SEA Community Help Resource Center, Inc. at Unknown

The celebration is the only one of its kind in Saint Johns County and is held in one of the few remaining African-American settlements in Northeast Florida.  This is a one-day event you’ll want to experience!  You may register for the scenic bike ride led by Bike Florida, which starts off this day of fun, food and family entertainment. At noon, the Saint Jax Band will entertain you with their mixed genres of musical sounds, including dance music, while SEA’s indomitable leader, Malinda, serves up her popular GG brummage stew and rice, and hot fish & fries.  Other food vendors will serve their signature dishes, too.

Meanwhile, you will continue to dance to the music, learn to weave a GG grass basket, and browse the Arts & Crafts booths; maybe you’ll view a GG film or two, followed by a host of world renowned musicians and entertainers like Bluesman, Willie Green – Doug Carn with his smooth jazz and Little Jake & the Soul Searchers with their soulful tones.  The Geechee Gullah Ring Shouters will represent, with their unique historical and crowd-pleasing international performance, then, DJ Danny Fro will close out the evening as he will surely make you wanna’ dance, sing and rap with his soul and R&B music.  You’ll sing, you’ll dance, maybe you’ll even win a prize – you surely will enjoy yourself!
