This October, 2019, marks the celebration of the Professional Artists of St. Augustine Fine Arts Gallery's (P.A.St.A.) 35th Anniversary, making it the oldest established gallery in St. Augustine.  P.A.St.A. Fine Arts Gallery was founded by celebrated local artist Jean Wagner Troemel in 1984.  Her hope was to showcase and encourage local artists through exhibition and sales.

Over the years, P.A.St.A. has been through many transformations and grown in size, but has always been operated by member artists and functioned as a cooperative gallery.  In 1989, it  moved to its current location at 214 Charlotte Street, where it resides today.

The gallery has always showcased a wide variety of art and award-winning professional artists working in oils, acrylics, mixed media, photography, pottery, sculpture, stained glass and jewelry.  Over the years, the gallery has represented several hundred local and regional artists.

To mark P.A.St.A.'s 35th Anniversary, the gallery artists will be celebrating "Historic St. Augustine" with a large mosaic of paintings and other media depicting St. Augustine, as well as paintings by founder Jean Wagner Troemel, on loan from a friend of P.A.St.A.

The opening celebration will take place during the October 4th First Friday Art Walk from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.  Refreshments will be served.  The gallery is located at 214 Charlotte Street, St. Augustine.  Gallery hours are Monday to Sunday, 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.  The phone number is 904-824-0251.  Always free.
