Wednesday Brown Bag Lunch Program - The Pilgrims and the Mayflower: Separating Facts from Fiction

Presented by Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine at Unknown

Join Friends for a presentation by Chris Robb, a 10th generation descendant of Myles Standish. During his program about the facts and fiction surrounding the Mayflower and the Pilgrims he will address such questions as:
– Who were the Pilgrims, and what brought them to Plymouth, MA in 1620?
– What was the Mayflower and what was life like aboard it?
– With both St. Augustine and Jamestown being earlier settlements, why are the Pilgrims and Plymouth so significant?

Chris Robb is a member of the Mayflower Society as a documented direct descendant of Myles Standish. He has a varied background as a former newspaper reporter, security consultant, polygraph examiner, and in hotel management. Since his retirement, he has been very active in two major IRS volunteer tax programs, including the AARP. For his volunteer tax work, Chris was presented a Gold Level Presidential Volunteer Service Award, an outgrowth of the Thousand Points of Light Program.

This program is free and open to the public. Seating begins at 11:00 am and the presentation starts at 11:30 am.  Light refreshments will be provided by Friends of the Main Library St. Augustine.  For additional information, please call the Main Library at the number listed.
