When shooting an image with a SLR camera, learning the advantages of leaving auto settings can be daunting.  Besides low light situations, long exposures can solve many problematic issues in taking a photograph both with black and white and color. Voellinger has a lifetime of experimentation with photography, and his approach to this subject is sure to interest both novices  and more experienced photographers.
