Our featured artist, Annette Dexter Jones, will exhibit her work the month of March.
Sorry- The remaining days of this event are cancelled due to COVID 19 initiatives.
Annette grew up in Chicago, and was influenced a great deal by her artistically talented father and a supportive mother. After getting a degree in Art Education from Michigan State, she taught art at the Middle School level. She earned her MA from Georgia State. She moved a lot… Tampa, Jacksonville and now St. Augustine. She believes that art connects her to life and this marvelous earth of ours…the changing seasons, movement of animals, blooming of flowers, blowing of the wind, sunsets and clouds. Color and texture are the most important elements of art that help her express her feelings. She hopes that her art work expresses the Native American views of a living, pulsating force in our world (a Mother Earth, if you will) and we need to honor and care for her. She is the volunteer artist for the City of St. Augustine Archaeology Program. She draws (whatever they give her) Native American pots, Spanish and English Ceramic and Glass items and other “finds” from local digs.
The Art Studio & Gallery is a not-for-profit, members only run cooperative with membership starting as low as $25/year! Come visit us and see what we’re all about!
