Inspired by their letters, the story follows the couple from their courtship through their long separation during WWII.
The extraordinary life and times of the beloved Florida writer, Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings, and her husband, Norton Baskin, are revealed in this play written and directed by Deborah B. Dickey. Nancy Grote (Marjorie) and Ashley Carter (Norton) re-create their roles in the 2013 premiere of this original work. Rawlings is best known for her Pulitzer-Prize novel "The Yearling."Her husband, Norton Baskin, was the proprietor of the Castle Warden Hotel in St. Augustine, now Ripley's Believe It Or Not.
A Classic Theatre celebrates this surprisingly "modern marriage" and unconventional love story with 6 performances on March 13-15 and 20-23.
Evening performances are at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2:00pm.
