About The Juror

Ashley G. Garner is a photographer and video artist based in Brooklyn, NY.

She spent most of her childhood between Georgia and Eastern North Carolina. In high school her family moved to Florida, where she attended college in Miami, completing a Bachelor Degree’s in Fine Art Photo and Art History at FIU. During her time there, she developed her photography work in editorial and self-portraiture while working as a freelance model.

In 2014, she moved to New York and began to incorporate video and art therapy into her process. She uses photo and video to capture narratives that examine sound and color therapy, the environment, mythology, and the self.

All the work she creates is informed by symbolism, psychology, art history, and scientific research. Her style has been described as “elegantly provocative."

In 2017, she founded the nature wellness collective ÆSTHESIA with electronic musician Juan Correa Lopez, aka ALURIA. They have since had their multi-sensory work installed in rehab clinics, hotels, galleries, museums, social clubs, film festivals, and even once on a broken-down tug boat in Brooklyn.

ÆSTHESIA is an ongoing project partnering with health centers, plant shops, educational institutions, and tech wellness companies. You can learn more about this work Here and @theAesthesiaExperience.
