ACPhas been gathering on the last Sunday of every month for free open mic poetry reading since August of 2009. This will be the 7th gathering on Zoom due to COVID-19.

All are encouraged to share poems that relate to positive change in our community and the world we live in as we observe 100 Thousand Poets for Change Day.

A sign-up sheet will be available at 2:30 and the open mic will start at 3:00 pm. Readers will be called to the podium in the order their names appear on the list. The mic will be turned off at 4:30 to allow the last 30 minutes for a meet and greet and networking.

You can be an agent of change with your written words. This is the idea behind 100 Thousand Poets for Change, a grassroots organization now in its tenth year that brings communities together to call for environmental, social, and political change within the framework of peace and sustainability.

This will be St. Augustine, Florida’s official observation of the global event that will feature more than 500 gatherings.

Supporting words from Michael Rothenberg co-founder of 100 Thousand Poets for Change:

"For the past 10 years thousands of poets around the world, poets in over 100 countries and hundreds of cities have gathered on the last Saturday of September each year to celebrate poetry, and to declare a shared belief that poetry can move us towards a world of peace, justice and sustainability."
