Insider's Tour: St. Augustine's History & Heritage

Presented by Florida Trust for Historic Preservation and St. Johns Cultural Council at Various Locations

Explore the culturally diverse heritage of St. Augustine, America’s oldest city! By the time Jamestown, Virginia, was settled St. Augustine was already 42 years old.
Much of the locations on our tour are from the First Spanish Period (1565-1763), although we will also see the Second Spanish Period (1783 – 1821) and learn about other historic eras in this unique American city. A fabulous resource to learn more is the PBS series Secrets of Spanish Florida, which features Dr. J. Michael Francis, who will speak at our Opening Reception!
A special behind-the-scenes tour includes access to some of the city's most historic buildings - including Spanish Colonial buildings and a boat tour of St. Augustine Harbor.
