Good question.

They're made from a variety of materials in addition to plush and vinyl, like ABS plastic, resin, wood, metal, and more.

Designer or "art" toys first appeared in the 1990s and their popularity has grown. Today, that demand is strong and the fire is fueled by industry standouts such as Pop Mart, Popaganda with its Cereal Killers, and the always popular Dunny line from Kidrobot.
