The River City Rhythm Kings are dedicated to performing the highest quality jazz in a swinging and entertaining manner. The wide range of musical experiences of the members comes together in tight ensemble work and hot solos.
NOTE: Due to COVID restrictions and anticipated attendance, the venue has changed to Markland House Lawn. Some seating will be provided or bring your own and enjoy great music outdoors!
The River City Rhythm Kings are comprised of five swinging jazz musicians from the Jacksonville area who are making a return appearance in the Romanza Festivale lineup.
The band is composed of Dr. Marc Dickman on low brass, Ken Calhoun on banjo/rhythm guitar, Dr. Bill Prince on brass and reeds, David Steinmeyer on jazz trombone, Eric Mason, a founding member on percussion, and Roy McCance playing woodwinds.
Members of the Rhythm Kings have varied musical careers including teaching at the University of North Florida, recording artists with multiple discs to their credit, playing for top jazz and pop artists, and careers with our nation’s military bands.
