History On The Streets Timeline Saunter

History On The Streets Timeline Saunter

Presented by Historic Florida Militia at Saint George Street

Saturday evening February 12, the historic reenactment community (through a partnership between the Historic Florida Militia, City of Saint Augustine, and the St. Johns Cultural Council) will be conducting another "History on the Streets" saunter along Saint George Street and the historic area in Saint Augustine.

Authentically-clad historical interpreters will walk around the city to share the rich and diverse history we so love. Through the use of a "timeline saunter," historians will speak with visitors and residents alike about Saint Augustine's history dating back to its founding in 1565.

Participants can wear historically accurate clothing depicting Saint Augustine's history from the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries, commonly known as the Colonial Period. Guests are encouraged to take photographs and ask questions. This event is free and open to the public.

Participants are asked to meet in the area of the Spanish Bakery at 5:30 PM. The saunter will take place between 5:30 and 8:30 PM.

Everyone is invited to watch but if you think you might like to join the saunter, contact the Historic Florida Militia on Facebook or by email to ribob2000@aol.com.
