For January’s exhibit, Tina has focused her camera on the sky. Butterfield Garage hosts a special talk for featured artist of the month, Tina Henle.
Tina is an award-winning freelance photographer with over 40 years of fine art, portrait, wedding, and commercial photography. Growing up on the island of St. Croix, she acquired her first cameras at the ages of fourteen and eighteen: a 35 mm Rollei and a twin-lens Rolleiflex from her father, Fritz Henle. Thus began her love for photography and passion for travel and diverse cultures. In 1984 she received a BA in Art and Anthropology from the University of New Mexico and worked and mentored with her father throughout the 1980s. She has exhibited in numerous group and solo shows and was co-owner of the Henle Gallery in St. Croix for 27 years.
For January’s exhibit, Tina has focused her camera on the sky. Tina says “Nature is my solace. From aerial landscapes over tropical islands to miles of pristine beaches to the stormy skies of summer to the full moon’s mystique, Earth’s beauty has captured my eye.” Her viewpoint has an abstract quality, even as the image is purely descriptive. This visual “juggling” is present in many of Tina's photographs.
Tina resides and freelances in St. Augustine, Florida. She continues to travel worldwide, always adding to her portfolio of creative fine art photography. She has been a member of the Butterfield Art Gallery since 2017.
Butterfield Garage Gallery will host the exhibit’s opening at Artwalk on Friday, January 7, 2022 with an Artist Talk at 6:00 PM. Butterfield will feature Tina’s fine art photography throughout the month.
