St. Augustine Jewish Historical Society to explore the history of First Congregation Sons of Israel.

The St. Augustine Jewish Historical Society will explore the history of the city’s oldest Jewish congregation, First Congregation Sons of Israel, with a program in the synagogue’s sanctuary at 161 Cordova Street, on Wednesday, January 19th at 1 PM.

The program is free and open to the public, all are welcome.

First Congregation Sons of Israel was formed in the 1890s and chartered in 1908. The first worship service in the current sanctuary, the oldest synagogue building in continuous use in the State of Florida, was held on March 30, 1924.
