Cynthia Pierson attended John Herron School of Art in Indianapolis and was an Art Director and illustrator for several national children's magazines in Indianapolis, Indiana. She has years of experience designing theater sets, theatrical costumes, painting murals, and commissioned portraits.

Her works are largely created using pastels and watercolors but Cynthia prefers pastel because there are no brushes or instruments between her and the color: just a stick of pure pigment. Cynthia enjoys participating in juried shows and is involved at the St. Augustine Art Association where she has received accolades for her pastel and watercolor works. Her work is featured at the Cultural Center in Ponte Vedra,  the St Augustine Art Association, and in many private collections.
