Workshop with Pablo Vindel

Workshop with Pablo Vindel

Presented by Crisp-Ellert Art Museum at Flagler College at St. Augustine Art Association

Artists' books can be described as publications that have been conceived as works of art in their own right. Pablo Vindel will lead this workshop, aiming to approach the book as an expansive experience, as a space for play and communication, and ultimately, as a place for collective action and shared knowledge.

Students will view their book as a sequence of different spaces and moments and after using some examples of existing artists’ books, we will take a detour around the city of St. Augustine — a transboundary drift in which we will use the body, drawing, and sound through individual and group actions to redefine the margins of urban space and consider new latitudes of the possible.

Pablo's residency is in partnership with the Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain. The CEAM Artist Residency is generously supported by a grant from the Dr. JoAnn Crisp-Ellert Fund at The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida.

This is a FREE one-day workshop offered on two dates. Students who wish to create a more expansive book can register for both days. Light refreshments will be served.
