During the Great Depression, hundreds of thousands of Americans found jobs with the Works Progress Administration (WPA), most wielding picks and shovels to build roads and schools. For a smaller cadre, however, the tools were little more than a pen, paper, and the spirit of investigation.
Enjoy a free screening covering a unique time in our history and learn how the WPA and the Writers' Project impacted our local community and history.
This screening and refreshments are funded by the Friends of the Library and presented through a partnership with the St. Johns Cultural Council.
