In conjunction with the exhibition “Ursula,” artist Timothy Stanley will give a walkthrough, followed by an opening reception.
The Crisp-Ellert Art Museum and Flagler College welcome artist Timothy Stanley, whose multidisciplinary practice includes sculpture and experimental fiction alongside digital and interactive components. The exhibition, entitled Ursula, will be on view from January 20 through February 22 and will feature selections from Stanley’s ongoing sculptural project as well as a site-specific installation entitled Kathleen’s Game (On site). The artist will give a walkthrough of the exhibition on Thursday, January 19 at 5 PM, followed by an opening reception until 7 PM.
Timothy Stanley (b. 1984) is a multidisciplinary artist from New York, NY. He graduated with a B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing from Columbia University. Stanley uses a combination of mediums including sculpture, writing, and video game development in order to explore the boundaries of literary narrative, with the aim of uncovering new techniques in storytelling. Stanley is the author of the art historical novel Măiastra: A History of Romanian Sculpture in Twenty-Four Parts. Volume one of Măiastra was recently acquired by the Museum of Modern Art in New York as part of its permanent collection. He lives and works in Bucharest, Romania.
