The School of the 16th Century

Presented by Historic Florida Militia and St. Augustine Historical Society at Oldest House Museum Complex

Classes will soon begin at The School of the Sixteenth Century.

The Saint Augustine Historical Society has partnered with the Historic Florida Militia to present this year's “School” on the beautiful grounds of the Oldest House Museum Complex, located at 14 St. Francis Street. Old Town Trolley has a stop directly outside the museum.)

A weekend-long encampment will be held at this beautiful venue Friday and Saturday, February 17 & 18.

On Friday, February 17, all visitors to the Museum have the opportunity to meet with living history interpreters and browse the encampment. See what life was like in the very beginnings of our city.

Classes will be held at the encampment on Saturday, February 18 with demonstrations of historic weapons, including the crossbow, matchlock musket, pikes, and edged weapons. See the clothing, crafts, culinary techniques, and military and religious practices of that time.

Admission to the museum will be free and open to the public on both days.
