Poetry Flows from The Waterworks: Celebrate Fourteen | AUGUST 27

Presented by Ancient City Poets and St. Johns Cultural Council at The Waterworks

Look back on fourteen years of hosting free poetry open mic readings in the Nation's Oldest City.
The Ancient City Poets will host a community poetry open reading on Sunday, August 27th from 3-4:30 at The Waterworks, located at 184 San Marco Avenue, St. Augustine, Florida 32084.

Readers are invited to share poems on the theme of fourteen years, or your perspective on the local spoken word scene. Poems that speak of your love for the Ancient City Poets, or how your life has changed since you found it.

The theme is meant as a writing prompt and it is your choice if you want to follow the theme or not. Give two or three of your polished poems or share fresh ink from your notebook. Invite a friend or two or three to cheer you on.

A sign-up sheet will be available at 2:30 and the open mic will start at 3 PM. Readers will be called to the podium in the order their names appear on the list. The mic will be turned off at 4:30 to allow the last 30 minutes for a meet and greet and networking.
